What should we pay attention to when maintaining and washing single-sided velvet jacquard curtains?

1. Choice of cleaning method

(1) Hand washing or professional cleaning is preferred
Jacquard fabrics are made of complex processes such as chemical fiber blending and cotton and linen blending. Machine washing can easily cause shrinkage, yarn unhooking or slipping. It is recommended to use hand washing combined with gentle machine washing: first brush the stains locally, then soak in the washing machine for 25 minutes, wash in the forward and reverse gentle mode, and stretch by hand to restore the shape after dehydration. If the curtain contains decorative accessories (such as lace, crystal tassels), they must be removed before washing.

(2) Dry cleaning recommendations
If the fabric contains wool or high-grade fibers, or the washing label clearly indicates it, it should be sent to a professional dry cleaner to avoid shrinkage or deformation caused by washing.

2. Detergent and water temperature control

(1) Do not use bleach
Neutral detergents or special curtain cleaners should be used. Avoid bleach, optical brighteners or strong alkaline ingredients to prevent fading or fiber damage.
Example: It is recommended that cotton fabrics should be dissolved in detergent before soaking, and silk fabrics should be fixed with silk wool detergent and a little vinegar.

(2) Water temperature should not exceed 40°C
High temperature will damage the texture of the suede and aggravate shrinkage, especially for chemical fiber blended materials, which should be washed with cold water or warm water (≤40°C).

3. Special treatment of suede

(1) Avoid rubbing and wringing
Flannel fabrics (such as single-sided suede) should not be rubbed or wrung hard to prevent the suede from falling off or creating a "yin-yang side" (uneven suede gloss). The correct method is to use a soft brush to gently brush the stain in the direction of the suede, and press the water with both hands after washing or let it dry naturally.

(2) Drying and ironing
Air drying: Avoid direct sunlight or high temperature in the dryer to prevent shrinkage or fading.
Low temperature ironing: If ironing is required, the back of the fabric should be treated at low temperature when it is almost dry to avoid direct contact with the suede.

4. Daily maintenance tips

(1) Regular dust removal
Use a vacuum cleaner (with a soft-bristled brush) to remove dust from the gaps in the fabric every week, or pat the curtains to let the dust fall off naturally.

(2) Stain treatment
Local stains can be gently wiped with a cotton cloth dipped in alcohol, gasoline or neutral detergent, wiping from the outside to the center to prevent spreading.

(2) Accessory maintenance
Metal or wooden accessories such as curtain hooks and hanging ropes should only be wiped with clean water to avoid corrosion by chemical detergents
